Abstract

The research aimed to collect
data and information about the habitat
caracteristics and mud crabs potency in Cibako
mangrove forest. Sampling was conducted
through line plot transect survey.
Parameters examined physical-chemical characteristic,
mangrove vegetation, mud crabs
population and size distribution. Habitat
characteristics were collected cluster analisys.
The result showed that some parameters
of habitat were resemblance where
stations 1 and 2 were Groups A, stations
3 and 4 were groups B , and station 5 and
6 were groups C. The mud crabs populations,
size distribution, and habitat groups
were analyzed correspondence analysis.
S.serrata dominate in zone A in dark totaled
67 ind. individual existence S.serrata
allegedly tolerant of high salinity > 28 0/00
and macrozoobenthos abundance of mangrove
crabs as a food source. S.tanquaberica
dominate in zone B in the dark was 70 ind.
The presence of individual species in zone
B allegedly tolerant of salinity 24 -> 28
0/00, natural food abundance and habitat
suitability as a mud substrate. S.olivacea
dominate in the zone C in the dark totaled
38. The presence of individual species
in zone C allegedly due to low salinity tolerant in the range of 21-22 0/00 and can
live on clay substrate.
