PEMANFATAN KULIT PISANG PADA BUDIDAYA Daphnia sp.
Abstract
Daphnia merupakan pakan alami yang umum digunakan dalam pembenihan ikan air tawar. Ketersediaan Daphnia sebagian besar masih mengandalkan tangkapan di alam dengan terbatasan jumlah dan kualitas yang fluktuatif. Ketersediaan stok Daphnia dilakukan dengan budidaya dengan memanfatkan sumber nutrien yang banyak tersedia diantaranya kulit pisang yang merupakan limbah makanan dari buah pisang yang dikonsumsi manusia. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kompos kulit pisang terhadap peningkatan populasi Daphnia. Penelitian menggunakan tiga dosis kompos kulit pisang yang berbeda dalam tiap satu liter budidaya Daphnia yaitu 3 gr/l, 6 gr/l dan 9 gr/l. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kompos kulit pisang pada budidaya Daphnia memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan populasi Daphnia. Kompos kulit pisang sebesar 6 gr/l merupakan dosis yang terbaik karena dapat menghasilkan populasi Daphnia tertinggi dibandingkan dosis lainnya. Kompos kulit pisang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber nutrien pakan alami yang diperlukan pada budidaya ikan. Penelitian ini juga akan memperbanyak pilihan metode sumber nutrien pakan alami.
