PENGARUH PERBEDAAN JENIS TALI TERHADAP TINGKAT PENEMPELAN BENIH KERANG HIJAU (Perna viridis)
Abstract
Kerang hijau Perna viridis merupakan komoditas perikanan yang sudah lama dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Perubahan larva kerang hijau dari planktonik menjadi sesil merupakan masa kritis untuk hidup larva kerang hijau. Penempelan kerang hijau memerlukan substrat yang baik agar benih kerang hijau menempel dengan sempurna dan tidak terbawa oleh arus. Pada proses budidaya kerang hijau diperlukan jenis substrat yang sesuai dengan bissus kerang hijau. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat penempelan benih pada substrat dan pertumbuhan panjang benih kerang hijau. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu jenis substrat (tali) yang berbeda (serat alami, serat sintetis dan serat nanas). Penempelan benih kerang hijau yang paling tinggi pada minggu ke 8 jenis serat alami yaitu 92%, selanjutnya serat sintetis 30% dan serat nanas 14%. Panjang rata-rata benih kerang hijau yang paling baik pada serat alami yaitu 1,0 cm. Panjang rata-rata yang baik benih kerang hijau pada serat alami dapat disebabkan karena serat alami memiliki tekstur yang lembut yaitu seratnya terbuat dari beberapa jenis tumbuhan sehingga kerang hijau dapat menempel dengan baik. Berdasarkan uji lanjut BNT menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan berbagai jenis tali menghasilkan tingkat penempelan yang berbeda nyata.
