Abstract

Sungai Way Kiri memiliki spesies ikan yang beragam salah satunya adalah ikan
lais (Cryptopterus lais). Populasi ikan Lais di Sungai Way Kiri terus mengalami
penurunan, hal ini disebabkan adanya penangkapan secara berlebih yang dilakukan oleh para nelayan. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi agar populasi ikan ini tetap terjaga adalah dengan melakukan upaya domestikasi, sebelum melakukan domestikasi ada beberapa kajian yang harus dilakukan diantaranya adalah kajian isi lambung (gut content analysis). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan kebiasaan makan ( gut content analysis ) ikan lais di Sungai Way Kiri.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni-September 2015. Data yang di analisis dengan menggunakan Index of Preponderance (IP). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ikan Lais adalah ikan Karnivora dengan kisaran nilai IP 26 % - 65 %, pola pertumbuhan ikan lais di Way Kiri pada bulan Juni dan Juli memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometri negatif sedangkan pola pertumbuhan ikan lais pada bulan Agustus dan September memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometri positif.
