TRANSPORTASI BASAH BENIH NILA (Oreochromis niloticus) MENGGUNAKAN EKSTRAK BUNGA KAMBOJA (Plumeria acuminata)
Abstract
Transportasi benih nila (Oreochromis niloticus) merupakan bagian dalam kegiatan usaha pembenihan nila. Metode transportasi yang dapat digunakan salah satunya adalah transportasi sistem basah dengan memanfaatkan ekstrak bunga kamboja (Plumeria acuminata) sebagai bahan anestesi (pembiusan). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak bunga kamboja yang paling efektif dalam anestesi benih nila pada transportasi sistem basah. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan A (0 mg/L), B (0,398 mg/L ekstrak bunga kamboja), C (1,584 mg/L ekstrak bunga kamboja), dan D (6,304 mg/L ekstrak bunga kamboja), masing-masing perlakuan 6 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah uji toksisitas, kecepatan pingsan, lama pulih sadar, tingkat kelangsungan hidup, kecepatan pertumbuhan dan kualitas air (suhu, oksigen terlarut dan pH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi ekstrak bunga kamboja antar perlakuan berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap periode kecepatan pingsan, lama waktu pulih sadar, tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan kecepatan pertumbuhan harian. Konsentrasi ekstrak bunga kamboja antar perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan kecepatan pertumbuhan harian benih nila. Konsentrasi ekstrak bunga kamboja yang paling efektif untuk teknik anestesi dalam transportasi sistem basah adalah 6,304 mg/L dengan tingkat kelangsungan hidup mencapai 94,43%
