ANALISIS KELAYAKAN USAHA AYAM RAS PETELUR EGG CITIED FARM DI KECAMATAN SEKAMPUNG UDIK KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TIMUR
Abstract
This research was intended to evaluate both the financial and non-financial viability of a laying hen farming business operated by Egg Citied Farm in Sekampung Udik District, East Lampung Regency. The research applied a case study method utilizing primary information gathered through direct observations and interviews, along with secondary data collected from supporting references. Financial feasibility was assessed through several investment appraisal indicators, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Gross Benefit-Cost Ratio (Gross B/C), Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C), and Payback Period (PP). In addition, a sensitivity analysis was conducted to measure the farm’s ability to withstand fluctuations in production cost variables. Non-financial feasibility was analyzed descriptively based on technical, market, environmental, legal, and socio-economic aspects using a Likert scale approach. The results indicated that the business was financially feasible, as reflected by a positive NPV, an IRR exceeding the prevailing interest rate, Gross B/C and Net B/C values greater than one, and a relatively short payback period. The sensitivity analysis showed that the business remained viable despite rising feed prices and declining egg production, indicating that the company was still able to maintain financial viability under changing production conditions. These results indicated that the business continues to meet viability criteria even when facing higher feed costs and lower production levels. Furthermore, the non-financial analysis indicates that the business was feasible across all assessed aspects. In conclusion, the Egg Citied Farm layer chicken enterprise was both financially and non-financially feasible and has strong prospects for sustainable development in the future.
