STRUKTUR BIAYA DAN EFISIENSI TEKNIS USAHATANI PADI DI KECAMATAN AMBARAWA, KABUPATEN PRINGSEWU, PROVINSI LAMPUNG

Abstract

Efficient allocation of input use is very important for farmers to achieve optimal production and maximum profits. The purpose of this study was to analyze the cost structure and technical efficiency rice farming in Ambarawa District, Pringsewu Regency. The research site was purposevly selected considering that Ambarawa District has been one of the rice production center in Pringsewu Lampung Regency. The study involved 50 respondents of rice paddy farmers who were selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis uses quantitative descriptive analysis, i.e. cost structure analysis. For technical efficiency the study employs frontier stochastic production function using Frontier 4.1 program. The study reveales that the variable cost structure is larger than fixed costs. Land rental and labor costs are the largest costs in the cost structure of rice farming. Rice farming is technically efficient. Age variable affects the technical inefficiency of rice farming in Ambarawa District, Pringsewu Regency.
