ABOUT THE JOURNAL
Authorship and Contributorship Policy
1. Introduction
Jurnal Agrotek Tropika (JAT) is committed to maintaining integrity, accountability, transparency, and fairness in the attribution of authorship and research contributions. All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and must accept responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the published work.
The journal adopts internationally recognized principles of responsible authorship and research publication ethics.
2. Authorship Criteria
To qualify for authorship, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:
-
Make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the research; the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data; or other significant intellectual aspects of the study.
-
Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising its content for important intellectual contributions.
-
Review and approve the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication.
-
Agree to be accountable for the work and cooperate in resolving questions concerning the accuracy, validity, or integrity of any part of the research.
Individuals who do not meet all four criteria should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors.
3. Author Contributions
Authors are encouraged to provide a clear statement describing their individual contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.
Contributions may include:
-
Conceptualization
-
Methodology
-
Investigation
-
Data curation
-
Formal analysis
-

-

-
Writing – original draft
-
Writing – review and editing
-

-

-

The Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) may be used to describe these contributions consistently.
4. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication.
The corresponding author must ensure that:
-
All authors have approved the submitted manuscript.
-
All individuals who meet the authorship criteria are appropriately included.
-
Author names, affiliations, and contact information are accurate.
-
Relevant funding information and competing interests are disclosed.
-
All authors are informed of editorial decisions and requested revisions.
5. Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be accompanied by a written explanation and documented agreement from all affected authors.
The Editorial Board will assess the justification for the proposed change before making a decision.
Authorship changes after publication require editorial consideration and, where appropriate, publication of a formal correction.
6. Unacceptable Authorship Practices
Jurnal Agrotek Tropika does not tolerate inappropriate authorship practices, including:
-
Gift or honorary authorship
-
Guest authorship
-
Ghost authorship
-
Unauthorized inclusion or exclusion of contributors
-
Misrepresentation of individual research contributions
The use of generative artificial intelligence tools does not qualify such tools for authorship. Human authors remain fully responsible for the manuscript's content, originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance.
7. Authorship Disputes
Any disagreement concerning authorship should initially be resolved among the contributing researchers and, when necessary, through their affiliated institutions.
The Editorial Board may request supporting documentation, suspend the editorial process, or refer unresolved disputes to the relevant institutions.
8. Ethical Responsibility
All authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript complies with the ethical standards and publication policies of Jurnal Agrotek Tropika.
These principles are informed by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
