Important Notice: OJS System Restoration and Manuscript Data Loss

2026-08-10

On July 29, 2026, the Open Journal Systems (OJS) of Jurnal Agrotek Tropika (JAT) experienced a cybersecurity incident that compromised the journal's platform and database. In response, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Lampung conducted system maintenance and recovery on July 30, 2026.

By July 31, 2026, the OJS platform was successfully restored and made accessible again. However, the system restoration revealed significant data loss. Please be advised that all uploaded manuscript documents (both .doc and .pdf formats) that were actively in the peer review and editorial processes between July 1, 2025, and July 29, 2026 have unfortunately been lost. In addition, general editorial tracking records and new submission data from May 23 to July 29, 2026, could not be recovered.

Fortunately, we can confirm that all final PDF documents of our published articles have been successfully repaired and restored to the system.

This disruption has unavoidably impacted ongoing manuscript workflows, including initial submissions, peer reviews, revisions, and editorial correspondence. To recover the missing manuscript files and resume operations, the JAT editorial board is currently reaching out to authors and reviewers individually. We kindly request your assistance in resubmitting any saved .doc or .pdf manuscript files, review reports, and related communications. This will allow us to seamlessly resume the editorial workflow from where it was interrupted.

Given the extensive timeframe of the lost documents, this manual recovery effort is taking place in stages. The JAT editorial team is fully committed to collaborating with our contributors to restore all necessary files and normalize our publication processes. We deeply apologize for this major inconvenience and are incredibly grateful for the patience, understanding, and continued support of our authors, reviewers, and the broader academic community during this challenging time.
