Author Guidelines

GENERAL GUIDELINE

The editor receives the manuscripts for publication in the form of research result. The submitted manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not being proposed for publication in any media. The author should check the similarity of the manuscript before submission to the JTIHP. The equality tolerance limit for TIHP journals is 20% exclude bibliography.

The first author is responsible for the content of the manuscript and correspondence regarding the manuscript. Format writing consists of title, full author name without abbreviation, name and address of institution along with email, abstract in English and Indonesian, introduction, material and method, result and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment (if any), and references.

TYPING REQUIREMENTS

  1. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the journal template available on the journal's website. The template can be downloaded here.
  2. The manuscript is typed using Microsoft Word (2010 or later), A4 paper size, Myriad Pro letter, 11 font size, 1.15 spacing, the first line indentation of each paragraph is 0.5 cm, single column with mirror margin, top and bottom margins of 2 cm, inside 2 cm and outside 2 cm.
  3. Maximum number is 12 pages including tables and images.
  4. The titles of each chapter use bold capital letters only at the first word, subheadings using italic and bold capital only for the first word, and do not use numbering.
  5. Graphical images are included in the manuscript, and can be optionally attached in a separate file (supplementary file) with Microsoft Excel program (2010 or later).
  6. Photo images is inserted in the manuscript (minimum 300 dpi).
  7. The images are numbered with Arabic numerals. The image title is written briefly and clearly and placed under the image.
  8. The table is numbered with Arabic numerals. The table title is written briefly and clearly and placed on top of the table.
  9. Tables created with Microsoft Word programs use only horizontal lines and are not allowed to use vertical lines.
  10. Citation is written with the author' last name (for one author), first and second author last names (for two authors using "&", Sartika & Yuliana (2019)), and first author last name followed by et al. (for more than two authors, Couillet et al., 2010), followed by the year of publishing the manuscript.
  11. If one sentence consists of more than one source, the citation should be sorted alphabetically (example: Dawson et al., 2009; Kersey et al., 2019; Tornas et al., 2016).

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

TITLE

  1. The title is written briefly and clearly in Indonesian, written in capital letters only on the first word of the sentence (Sentence case format).
  2. The English title translation is written in parentheses ([...]). Only on the first word of the sentence written in capital letters (Sentence case format).
  3. The Latin word is written in italics.

AUTHORS NAME

Authors name must be complete but without any title, accompanied by author and affiliation address. The first author's institution, the second, and so on, is written completely under the author's name. The list and order of author names cannot be changed and added to the article after submission.

ABSTRACT & KEYWORDS

  1. The Abstracts are written in one paragraph using English and Indonesian, please follow the word limitations (200‐250 words).
  2. The abstract must contain a background of novelty (limit 2-3 sentences), concise objectives, brief methodology, final outcomes or discoveries, and conclusion.
  3. Keywords are written in English and Indonesian, a maximum of 5 words or phrases, and sorted alphabetically.

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should contain the background of the study, state of the art, gap analysis, and research objectives, with a minimum of 600 words. The introduction should include a brief review of pertinent work citing key references (last 5 years publication). 

MATERIALS AND METHODS

  1. Materials and methods should make readers be able to reproduce the experiment, as well as descriptions of research methods, including experimental designs and data analysis.
  2. Materials and instruments used must be clear its specification and source.
  3. The method used should be written clearly and in detail, as well as reproducible, and when quoted from other sources comes with the citation.
  4. Specific experimental method should be sufficiently detailed so the work can be repeated.
  5. The method should be described with references.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

  1. The results are presented in the form of narration, tables, graphs, or figures.
  2. The results should be clear and concise. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail. Please highlight the differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
  3. Discussion of the results of the research should be supported by 80% of the primary data related literature (journal or patent), and that literature must be from the last 5 years.

CONCLUSION

Restate the research topic, summarize the main findings, highlight the significant results, and provide suggestions for future research or implications of the study.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if any)

Acknowledgments contain the names of agencies or individuals who assist with the conduct of research. Mention the contract number if possible.

REFERENCES

  1. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their references.
  2. The maximum number of the references are 40.
  3. 80% of the references should come from primary and related literature (journals or patents) published in the last 5 years.
  4. Each reference must include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and be listed in the bibliography. In cases where the DOI is not available, a link to the reference must be provided
  5. The manuscript must cite the related articles in Jurnal Teknologi & Industri Hasil Pertanian (if any)
  6. Writing the bibliography follows the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.
  7. It is suggested to use reference management software, such as Mendeley, Zotero, Medline, EndNote, or others.
  8. The references list is arranged in alphabetical order of the first author's name.
  9. Writing references using English if the source is in English and using the Indonesian language if the source is in Indonesian language.
