Peer Review Process

The peer review system of the Jurnal Teknologi & Industri Hasil Pertanian (JTIHP) is established to maintain the publication of high-quality scholarly work. Manuscripts must adhere to the JTIHP Article Template, and Author(s) are required to submit an Author’s Mandatory Author Declaration within the Cover Letter. The stages of the peer review process are outlined below:

Pre-evaluation. The Section Editor conducts an initial screening to ensure that the manuscript follows JTIHP formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the required format are returned to the Author(s) for correction. Manuscripts that comply are forwarded to the Chief Editor, who reviews their suitability for JTIHP’s scope and evaluates elements such as novelty, objectives, methodology, and scientific value. Manuscripts outside the journal’s scope are rejected, while appropriate submissions proceed to the review stage.

Review by Peer Reviewers. All manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind review process. Reviewers are given two weeks to thoroughly assess the manuscript and submit their reports to the Section Editor. To protect authors’ rights and research confidentiality, reviewers are strictly prohibited from using artificial intelligence (AI) tools during the review process. The Editorial Team then examines the reviewers’ recommendations, and the Chief Editor’s decision—together with the reviewers’ comments—is communicated to the Author(s).

Revision by Author(s). Author(s) must revise their manuscripts based on the reviewers’ feedback and resubmit the revised version within two weeks of receiving comments from the Section Editor or Technical Editor.

Evaluation by Editors. After resubmission, the assigned Editors review the revised manuscript. If the revisions are insufficient, the manuscript is returned to the Author(s) for additional improvement. Once the revisions are deemed adequate, the manuscript is passed on to the Chief Editor for further consideration.

Final Decision. The Chief Editor makes the final judgment on the manuscript. For accepted manuscripts, the Administrative Staff issues and sends an official acceptance letter to the Author(s).

Production of Galley Proof and Publication. The Production Editor prepares the galley proof and sends it to the Author(s) for checking. After the Author(s) return any corrections, the Production Editor finalizes the galley proof. At this stage, the Production Editor verifies and updates the metadata in OJS, including authors’ names, affiliations, abstract, keywords, and references, before uploading the article online. The journal is then published, a DOI is assigned, and metadata is updated in DOAJ and Garuda.
